Entertainment & Nightlife in Honduras

General

Depending on which town you happen to be in, there’s plenty of night life to be seen ranging from American expat and tourist bars to local hide-aways and dance emporiums. Be careful with the latter choices though as sometimes the locals can be quite frosty towards foreigners and girls should definitely not venture into these places alone as you will get hassled. Stick to the ‘English’ themed bars or the expat bars, which can be found in all major cities and some minor towns.

Tegucigalpa

Tegucigalpa offers many options for the your enjoyment during the night. From casinos to bars, discos and night clubs, you'll find the place to suite your taste.

Casinos

Casino Royale
The only full fledged casino in Tegucigalpa is the Casino Royale, located at the trendy Honduras Maya Hotel. Here you can try play a variety of games including blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and more. Access to the casino is limited to foreigners, so make sure that you carry some sort of ID to prove that you are not Honduran. There is also a section with slot machines.

Video Cafeteria El Palacio
An ample selection of slot machines is available at this establishment, located in the Lomas de Guijarro sector of town.

Bars

El Mirador
Located at the trendy Honduras Maya Hotel, this is one of the favourite spots for locals and foreigners in the city. Good music, a good buffet with local bocas a complete selection of booze.

Portal La Leyenda
Although not located within Tegucigalpa city limits, this lovely, quaint café-bar located in nearby Santa Lucia is well worth the trip. Open daily, this charming bar, located next to the park in Santa Lucia is light by candlelight, offers soft music, a full international bar and a variety of light bites.
